Our 2013 trail building season is off to a great start. We expect to finish our newest trail this coming session (3/9). It's called Cairn Trail and it links the Nature Trail to another trail called La-Z-Boy. If you're not familiar with the trail names please take a look at our map. When we finish this project we're jumping to the west side of the park for another major project. We're extending Bonnie & Clyde's east, connecting it to the mid-mountain area. To make this happen we need your support. Simply put, the more volunteers and hours worked – the faster we complete trails. The Mount Vernon Parks Department has approved plans for a couple years worth of trail building on Little Mountain, given our current pace. But with increased support it simply goes faster.
There are three ways you can help:
1. Volunteer at any trail building session. No need to sign-up in advance, just show up – come for a couple hours or the day. Refer to our trail building schedule, maybe even print it out – taping it to your fridge. Reminder notes work great.
2. Recruit your own group. Maybe friends, bring your family, or get co-workers to join you. This is what we call our featured group program. To learn more email us. It's not a big deal, it's mostly a lot of fun.
3. Or make a financial contribution. While it is a family friendly activity, and we think it's fun – maybe it does not interest you. If not, no worries – you can still help. You can support our work by making a donation. Donations are used to purchase tools, and support our trail builders with food, snacks and drinks. Any amount helps, and it's tax deductible.
Thanks!
