Are you ready to make a difference at Little Mountain Park? The Mount Vernon Parks Foundation is looking for volunteers to help build a new trail that will connect the restrooms at the main parking lot to the central multi-use trail system.
As I write this blog post for the Mount Vernon Parks Foundation, my last as president of this fine organization, I feel the need to recap, reflect and look ahead.

This past Saturday was a muddy but, very productive and fun work session. We were pleased to have three groups join us that day, SWITMO, the Arlington/Lakewood HS Mountain Bike Team, and Boy Scout Troop #1. We'd like to thank everyone who came out and lent a hand.

Come join us tomorrow as we put the finishing touches on our newest trail. The folks from SWITMO will be joining us as well as Boy Scout Troop #1. In the morning we will have Starbucks coffee and pastries from Haggen. Lunch ill also be provide. Meet us at the East Park Entrance on Little Mountain Road at 10:00AM.

Mount Vernon Parks Foundation is pleased to announce that the Skagit-Whatcom-Island Trail Maintaining Organization will be our first featured group of 2013 on Saturday January 26th. Come for the trailbuilding and hang around afterward for a tail gate party hosted by SWITMO.

Last Saturday we had a very productive trail building session with about 17 volunteers participating. We connected the East Trailhead to La-Z-Boy and the trail is now ready for hikers and bicyclists. There is still some finish work we need to do, but overall the trail is in great shape and usable. Once again we thank Leslie and Roger for bringing their delicious homemade soup. It certainly took the edge off the cold weather.
